about me

Believer, adherent, thinker, worker with numbers, gardener, photographer, lover.

  1. Believer: I am a committed Christian serving my Lord every day
  2. Adherent: I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, first and foremost, and I adhere to (most of) the tenets of the Anglican Church of Canada.
  3. Thinker: I wouldn't quite go so far as to repeat the overused statement attributed to Socrates that "The unexamined life is not worth living" - but it's certainly much more fulfilling and worthwhile if I do - so I examine my life, my faith, my beliefs. I am currently proceeding through the Education for Ministry program (www.efmcanada.ca) and have just begun studying theology.
  4. Worker with numbers: I am a designated accountant (CPA, CMA) working for an accounting software firm to implement the software for new customers - installation, data conversion, configuration, training and after-live support. I head a team of three Vancouver-based individuals from my home office in Cobourg, Ontario.
  5. Gardener: My life in Christ is a garden. The garden is my metaphor for daily living, growth, bearing fruit for him, seasons of change in my spirituality, and much more.
  6. Photographer: My husband and I see the beauty in God's creation and enjoy outings to capture some of that for home viewing. We are members of the Northumberland Photography Club  based in Cobourg.
  7. Lover: of God, of his creatures of all kinds, of life, of beauty, of learning, of stained glass windows, of my career. 1 John 4:16: So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love, abides in God, and God abides in her. I abide in God, and God abides in me - and that is why I love (and how I can love).

Some other items I'd like to share (check back on occasion for more):

Life Motto: is from Shakespeare's character Polonius: "This above all: to thine own self be true / and it must follow, as the night the day / thou canst not then be false to any man" (Hamlet, Act I, Scene III)

Family: I am a twin. (I find this interesting - I hope you do too.) We have three older siblings (5 in total). Twinship has shaped my whole life, from conception on. My fraternal twin sister and I have a special bond of intimacy and certainty that is like no other - except, perhaps, the intimate and certain bond I have with my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
